The world is in a post-apocalyptic time and there are hordes of zombies that are controlled by an Artificial Intelligence fighting to keep control. The salvation for humans may just be a group of four players moving through ravaged cities to wade off the enemies. That is not the story told by the cooperative multiplayer game Left 4 Dead 3; it is the one told by the first game which was released in 2008.
The game turned out to be as successful as you would expect of a game with such a good and simple story and so Valve, caught in the euphoria, dished out the sequel only a year later. You would think that everyone would be excited with the release of the sequel, but not in haste. Over 25 thousand gamers decided to fight the release by signing a manifesto calling on gamers to boycott the second game since they now believed Valve would only rush it and then release something not good or even completely skewed.
Since then, we have all remained in the purgatory of enjoying the first game and its sequel amidst the release of many other great games like Vermintide and Fortnite, and the displeasure of waiting in expectation for the release of the Left 4 Dead 3.
Left 4 Dead 3 Release Date – When Will It Be Out?
The highs and lows and suspense in the waiting for the release of the sequel to the highly loved game can be said to be distantly as interesting as the game itself.
Since even before 2015, there have been many that had been expecting Valve to drop a release date but nothing was heard from them. But then in 2015, hopes went down of ever seeing the release of the game following the release of Evolve by Turtle Rock Studios which broke away from the Valve Corporation.
Early in 2018, fans had reasons again to believe that a release date was on the way after what appeared to be the official Facebook page of Left 4 Dead 2 had its name changed to Ted Carson who happens to be a developer of Valve. The main source of excitement for many was that the hand cover picture on the page (the teaser) was edited to have three fingers. Unfortunately, this was just another troll playing on the minds of the lovers of the game, and the Facebook page created was also fake.
As it stands, there is still yet to be any official announcement as regards when the game would be released, that is if it would ever be. The excitement on the release of the game has been propelled by the replayability and intense gaming experience of the first release that was able to sell over 12 million copies between 2008 and 2012.
Trailer and Characters
Exploiting the expectations of many gamers, there have been many Left 4 Dead 3 trailers that have been released in the past. The only thing is that none of them was released by Valve, just as none of them is true.
One of the first trailers to be released was in 2013 by HS Top. The video raked together almost 2 million views, with many not caring enough to check the description to see that the YouTube channel spelled out that it was an April Fool’s prank. What it shared was the official trailer of Left 4 Dead Beta.
While that was only a joke, many others would come afterward, claiming to be the real trailer in an attempt to gain views on YouTube. The irony with the many trailers released on the internet is that they can be found on almost all platforms except platforms controlled by Valve.
Judging from what we got with the release of the Left 4 Dead 2, there will hardly be so many changes if the 3 ever gets to hit out except for the Half-Life 3. This is basically because the L4D is a straight story without needing any twists.
Since we are still only speculating, there is not much that can be said on the characters that would make the L4D3 if it ever gets to be made. But then, we would expect to see more characters just as we saw in the 2. Additional weapons, maps, and items are some of the things you will most likely see more of.
What Are The Latest Announcements and Rumors?
The rumor mill for the game has been grinding since 2009 after the release of the L4D2, and it doesn’t look like it will slow down any time soon unless Valve decides to make some most needed announcements that fans have been waiting for.
The release of the third part of the game which has Ted Carson as the developer, the date of release which may be November 2018, the Left 4 Dead 3 Xbox one, and Left 4 Dead Ps4 have all been the driving rumors. One of the major rumors that was recently started was after a fake teaser of the game was uploaded on the fake Facebook page started with the name of Ted.
Will we get to see the L4D3?
Should we just leave the Left 4 Dead 3 for the dead or still keep hoping that we may get to see it? There is nothing wrong with hoping that Valve releases it, but then, it would simply be better to keep enjoying the ones available since, in the least, you can hardly play the L4D twice and have the same experience.
Since the release of the first line of the game in 2008, Valve has gone ahead to release a good number of other games including the Alien Swarm, Portal 2, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and a good number of others. The next game it is expected to release is Artifact in 2018 and In the Valley of Gods n 2019.

You don’t have to be a pessimist to suggest that we may never get to see the L4D3 since 10 years later, there is hardly as little as a talk about it from Valve even as it continues dishing out more games. And in case you are still yet to figure it out, Valve hardly goes beyond a sequel after the release of its multiplayer game.
In the same line, the game was produced by Turtle Rock Studios which as stated earlier, has already left Valve corporation which it became a part of shortly before the game was made.
If we get surprised at a later date with an announcement and a subsequent release, that will be a pleasant surprise, but for now, let’s enjoy what we have.
